Hello Christ Church Legends, I am guessing that many of you are away on holiday this week. Rumor has it that another snowpocalypse is imminent. So, enjoy your holiday. I am not on holiday.
Anyway, here is some holidaytastic news for you to devour:
Alpha - The Alpha holy spirit day took place on Saturday. Two people became Christian. This is fantastic. A big kudos/shout up/props/well done goes to the Alpha team, who have worked like hard working people putting Alpha on.
Food - On Sunday we ate plenty of food, we hung out and we had fun. Thanks to everyone who made some food. The amount of Tupperware in my house has gone up significantly because many of you are leaving it behind! If you are missing some plastic boxes or glass bowls please shout. If I still have them in a month I will sell them on eBay. probably.
Easter - We will be meeting as normal on Sunday morning. It will be awesome. Fact.
The Chapel - We are stopping for Easter because…....well…...because I want to. Simple as that! In the last four weeks we have had 21 first time guests. Honestly, I remain blown away.
Have an excellent week and you should always remember that going over the handlebars on your mountain bike and head butting a tree is deeply over rated.

I hope you are all well. This weekend Man Utd beat Liverpool, Chelsea drew with Blackburn, and Woking beat Basingstoke. That is the definition of a world class weekend.
Want to hear something cool? The Chapel has had 16 first time guests on the last 3 Sunday evenings. How much does that Rock? It rocks a great deal. The Chapel is an evening meeting of CCM. So I guess you could say that we are pioneering a second site for CCM.
Here are some more News Nuggets of Indescribable beauty….
Storm - This is a youth event run by the Newfrontiers churches in Manchester. It is on this Friday at Kingsburn Hall in Burnage from 7:30pm. Keli is leading worship and I am (Tim) preaching. So if you are a teenager then come down. If you happen to know a teenager (i.e. You a re a parent) then send them down.
Food - This Sunday we are having our second after church party (I really need a new name for this. Any idea?). The format is simple. You all bring food, we all eat the food, the kids watch a film, the teenagers play on the Wii and everyone else just hangs out. There will be no surprise sermons, prayer meetings, or worship times. We just hang and chat.
More food - Ed is a strange guy with a fantastic wife. Anyways, Ed has a cunning plan. This plan involves food. His plan is simple. He wants everybody in CCM to have dinner with people they don’t know. Interested? Talk to Ed on Sunday and he will match you up with a bunch of other people and organize dinner for you (6 people maximum). Sound like your worst nightmare? Do it anyways. There are a lot of very good people in this church, and many of them are fantastic cooks! (Participation is not compulsory)
Colin - Is in Dubai this week. Believe it or not Colin works hard on these trips helping churches work out what on earth they are supposed to be doing. So pray for him.
Anyways, have a week of an exceptional quality and remember that you should never corner a ferret. Not ever.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I spent most of the weekend trying to convince Abi (my 3 year old) to stop playing "Happy Day" on her new guitar. I have spent the 1st three years of her life faithfully discipling her in The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, The Beastie Boys, The Bronx and all manner of other "Punk and alternative" bands. So what happens when I buy her a guitar for her birthday? She starts playing Matt Redman. Gutted.
Anyhoo, you want some punktastic news? Yeah you do.
Food - On March 28th we will have our second after church party. The format is simple. You all bring food, we all eat the food, the kids watch a film, the teenagers play on the Wii and everyone else just hangs out. There will be no surprise sermons, prayer meetings, worship times and Colin will be bound and gagged so he doesnt start announcing stuff. Simples.

As I am sure you are aware I run a Sunday evening meeting in Fallowfield which is called The Chapel. The aim of this meeting is to try and reach out into the student and 18 - 30s population of Manchester.
Anyways, since Christmas running this meeting has been more difficult than pushing jelly up a hill and I was beginning to wonder whether it was ever going to work (which is stupid because we have only been going 6 months and how many church plants get themselves up and running within 6 months?). We had been averaging 14/15 people a week and on valentines day there were 6 of us. 6 aint many. In fact, 6 is the opposite of many!
Anways, last week there was 16 of us. The power of God was there and we had a great evening (even with the thumping dance music coming through the floor!). Last night we had 20 people, 8 of those were first time guests. This is very very cool. It seems as though God is doing something.
So I need you guys to pray. We are doing this together, even though most of you have never been to The Chapel. You guys have been very supportive and often ask me how it is going, provided baby sitting so Vix can come along and prayed for us. So pray that this Sunday, our visitors would come back, that we would get some more visitors and that God would show up.
Here is some other news for you -
Small Groups - We run small groups every week in a variety of locations. If you are interested in checking out a few of these groups then email or call me and I will give you details about the different groups.
Alpha - Continues every Wednesday evening. We want people to be added to the Church because they met Jesus and realized that he is the most important person in the history of the Universe. We are getting good numbers every week so lets pray that a few people get saved and added to the church.
Christian Women of Influence - Grace Johnson helps run a Ladies Breakfast. The next one is on 20th March at Trinity Baptist Church. in Gorton [next to Tesco, Hyde Rd] from 9.00am to 1.00pm. The guest speaker is Sheila Cochrane who is a missionary to Uganda. It will be a really good time of food, worship and fellowship/networking. If you fancy going along call Grace on 0161 223 9774 or mobile 07824468768 or just turn up on the day [£5.00 entry]

How was your weekend? I missed you guys. This weekend I ate one kebab (the size of a rugby ball), 1/2 a Chinese (on the same night as the kebab), 800 haribo sweets, one curry (Vix curry was basically raw!), a four year olds birthday cake, and finished off the weekend (and my internal organs?) with one Pizza. Unsurprisingly I feel a little like a wheelie bin. Ugh. So this week I shall be mainly eating carrots. Why did I tell you that? Because I luvs ya.
So what glorious pieces of junk food inspired news do I have for you this week?
Dinner - Ed has a cunning plan. If you don’t know Ed, he comes to church and hatches cunning plans. Alpha - Continues every Wednesday evening. We want people to be added to the Church because they met Jesus and realized that he is the most important person in the history of the Universe. So pray for that.
Colin - Is back from Russia (near Croydon) and it still exists as a modern state and hasn’t descended into another revolution. So that must mean it was a successful trip. Right? This week he goes to Bournemouth, Sidcup, Brighton, and Bedford. Apparently these places are all in the South of England? Personally, I don’t believe that such a place exists…
Blog - Colin is blogging (that is not some sort of nasty disease) and he is writing stuff that no other Christian Blogger is writing about, check it out it is genuinely excellent.
Have a week of absolute quality and remember that Iranian dance music is probably better than you would have thought (long story, ask Paul Graves).
