"There will be NO Sunday Morning meeting on Sept 5th 2010"

This is my first post-Newday blog. We had a great time in the middle of Norfolk (who knew that was even possible). We prayed, worshiped, did the conga (well, I didn't but a few of our younger members did), ate good food, drank hot chocolate and met with God.

Christ Church Manchesters ONEWAY YOUTH group are a credit to us as a church. When I was a teenager I nearly got thrown off a few of these events for being a bit rebellious (for rebellious read Moron) but our guys were fantastic. WOOP WOOP!!

A few Non-Moronic notices for you -

Sunday Sept 5th - There will be NO Sunday morning meeting (Hyde Town Hall is being re-wired). So you have a free morning! However, in the evening we have a plan so cunning a ferret would be amazed and our levels of cunning! Read on.

On Sept 5th at 6pm we shall be launching CCM:City. Our prayer is that CCM:City will soon reach 50 people and we have a significant group of people who are commited to who we are as a church and are fully fledged members of CCM. So it would be amazing to start this venture/plant/innovation/mad-cap idea with a bang. So let me officially invite you all to come along. Do what ever it takes to get there. Bug people for lifts, steal cars, start walking now or simply drive. Whatever you do, be there.

So Sunday 5th Sept, 6pm at Luther King House. A map is here.

Half night of prayer - On friday 17th Sept from 8pm till 2 am we shall be praying at Carmel Christian Centre in Denton. Dave Wade from Blackburn will be joining us as will Ginny Burgin from Sheffield (Ginny is Uber prophetic. Seriously, she could take Moses in a prophets stand off). Write it in you diary. We are at a tipping point. Prayer will push us over.

CCM:India - This is a fantastic initative, so fantastic that I am going to send round a seperate email. But before I do that you should know that Sue and Clare have raised £700 for the waterwell. Obviously this is a great start, even more obviously, it isnt enough! They need to double that. If you see that waterwell on a Sunday why not put some cash in?

Every Sunday evening we meet at Luther King House in Fallowfield. The meeting starts at 6pm.

Luther King House is on Brighton Grove opposite Platt Fields. This is a 10 minute walk from Owens Park Halls (massive student halls) and is just off Oxford Road, south of the curry mile. It is easily accessable from the Universities, the city centre and the south of Manchester because it is on a very busy bus route. Detailed instructions on how to find us are available here.

We meet so that we can worship, pray, hear teaching and hang out together. It is a laid back evening and we enjoy our times together as well as being focused on worshipping Jesus and reaching Manchester. One of the ways we are looking to reach out is The Chapel.

CCM:City runs a monthly open mic night and have run club nights in the past.

Anyways, come along and check us out. If you have any questions please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call him on 07961233768

I hope you are punching well above your weight this week. This morning Esther (14 months old) put Vicki's (32 years old) slippers into the toilets. Obviously Vicki was annoyed and even more obviously I was amused.

Anyhoo, here is some smelly slipper related news -

Healing Meeting - On Sunday 15th August Dave Wade from the Newfrontiers Church in Blackburn is coming to preach. We are expecting to see people healed as Dave has experience in this.

So on Saturday the 14th August a bunch of people will be giving out flyers around Hyde town centre. Fancy helping out? Get in touch with Stu Gosling

Prayer Meeting - Tuesday 10th August 7:30pm at the shop in Hyde Centre. I have no idea where this shop is (LAME!) but Stu Gosling knows everything about most things so call him (07809128581) or email him

From CCM to India -  Clare and Sue are having a stall at the Oldham Carnival on 7th August, selling crafts and running a tombola to raise money for the India projects.  Received any presents that you cant use? Do you have any New and Unused good Quality items, like photo albums, wine, perfumes, gift sets. If so would you donate them to us for our Tombola? Please contact Clare Taylor about delivery/collection etc…

That’s it for the week people. So, always remember keep the toilet seat down.
